“Doctor… Who? Pah! I am the Captain! Sherbet lemon? Now step into my wardrobe. What? Yes, of course it’s smaller on the inside you blithering idiot!”—The Captain!
“There’s Ed, Op Ed, Op, and then there’s this blog.”—The Captain!
“Well done son, keep it up!”—The Captain’s Mum
“People will think you’re a nerd.”—The Captain’s Dad
“I hate this!”—vox populi
“I don’t care.”—The Captain!
“Who the Hell is the Captain anyway?”—Roy Mathur
“The Captain is not an adventurer, rock star and supervillain with a penchant for G&Ts, C7H10N4O2 and insanely loud music. His exploits do not usually involve arriving just in time to save the multiverse (or thoroughly bugger it up) in a Vimana shaped like a wardrobe. And, contrary to the wanted posters, he is certainly not a multi-tentacled cyborg from the 27th dimension.”—Anonymous
“Finally an honest review…great!”—Shayne T. Wright

Here’s the reply I received regarding an enquiry I made into SyFy’s Blake’s Seven reboot: Hi Roy Many thanks for your email and apologies for the delay in our replay. This project is in development with Syfy in the US. … Continue reading
I finally caved in and e-mailed SyFy- Dear SyFy I am an avid Blakes Seven aficionado. Back in July last year the internet was rife with news/rumours of an imminent SyFy remake. It is now almost half a year later … Continue reading

I love Blakes 7. Its that simple. From the moment it first aired in 1978, I did not miss a single episode. When Marvel, UK started publishing the Blakes 7 magazine, I bought every single issue. And when the series … Continue reading
A Scanner Nerdly Here are a few of my favourite things (and yes, I actually sang that line out loud): Toob? Star Trek, Blake’s 7, Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Thunderbirds. Flicks? 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), The Man Who Fell … Continue reading
Tonight I was kindly invited by Julie Kuehl, Mike McPeek and Jeff Syer as a guest on their SciFi Tech Talk podcast. Inevitably, and in the midst of really enjoying myself, Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who were, of … Continue reading

After I recently took to task a mod (Ed) who removed a comment of mine at the Guardian, he seems to have gotten a little spiteful and deleted most of my comments. Have a look. Hey, Ed, maybe you should … Continue reading
Wow, a fitting end to Christopher Nolan’s trilogy. Anne Hathaway great as Catwoman, Tom Hardy- not as terrible as I thought he’d be as Bane and, as always, Christian Bale brings it as Batman (or any other role he puts … Continue reading
The phrase “cockney neck” was my favourite from the whole show. It’s right up there with Blakes Seven‘s Vila describing the architecture of a monstrous gothic church on dark, desolate Cynus Alpha as “reminiscent of early maniac.”
