Roy's Rocket Radio Show: RRR 79, Inc. A Chat with Dean Motter, Creator of Mister X, UK Pop Culture, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and Technology Podcast

Today, unbelievably, I got to chat with vastly influential artist and writer Dean Motter, best known as the creator of the iconic antihero Mister X and the equally iconic Radiant City, better known as Somnopolis. Dean said, during the interview, that there is a Mister X TV show in the works!

  1. I have Googled some of the names mentioned in the interview so that you don’t have to: Harvey Kurtzman, Anton Furst, Thomas Berger.
  2. Apologies for the sound quality, such are the vagaries of Skype.
  3.  I said at the end of the podcast “recorded on Wednesday 16th April”. I should have said “Thursday 16th April”. Update: corrected somewhat OCD-ish-ly. Bygones.

terminal-city-1-panel-1More retrofuturism in the shape of Motter’s Terminal City.

      Hi Saul

Blimey, it’s been a LOOONG time since anyone’s commented on the blog, so apologies for not noticing.

Regarding the Mister X TV show – yeah, I totally up for that too. We’ll just have to see how things pan out (fingers-crossed).

      Thanks for commenting.

You replied within a day. No worries 🙂 Anyway, I was a huge fan of the comic when it came out (mid 80s as I recall). In fact, I liked it so much that a letter I wrote to the editor got printed in one of the issues. So I challenge anyone to go find it 😉 Anyway, I’ll watch any show with great interest, but I pray to the gods of comic fandom that they don’t mess it up.
