Whispers Under Ground (2012)

Met copper/apprentice magician investigates weird stuff in London. And that is why I found it impossible not to buy it in Foyles a couple of weeks ago. I have now almost finished this novel from a series by ex-Doctor Who writer Ben Aaronovitch and have found it fairly entertaining. My only quibbles are that the main character is so much your stereotypical plod that it grates occasionally. Also I haven’t seen so many typos miss the editing process in years. If you liked any of the books in this series, I suggest that you might also like to read Christoper Fowler’s Roofworld (1988) and Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere (1996).
