Whoa there Roy! The Hand – are you serious? Even Michael Caine said he only made it as he needed the dough to put his kid Natasha through college. Definately a case of not-stalgia there I think. If you want to talk about underrated films, then how about the wonderful Roger Donaldson film The Bounty with Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins? That should appeal to your nautical bent as well.

Nope, I stand by The Hand, it’s more than the sum of it’s parts. Trashy 80s horror at it’s best. Anyway what does Mr. Caine know, he’s only an actor! (I just know I’m going to pay for that comment sometime in the future).
As for The Bounty, I’ve seen all three versions (oldie, on stage and Mel’s). While it’s a passable movie, I’m on Captain Bligh’s side. Mutinous dogs!
But it’s good to hear from you despite the slight difference of opinion.
