Oxford, Inklings, J.R.R. Tolkien

A couple of weeks ago I met a mate in Oxford.  We had a drink in the Eagle and Child pub, made famous for being the meeting place of a group of Oxford fantasy authors who called themselves the Inklings.  These included C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.  As we sat there drinking, a good number of tourists came in to reverently snap photos.  As I did too when I read the plaque on the wall.

Then we visited the Ashmolean.
