.tek: I've Lost My Programming Chops: I Don't Know XOR from Coleslaw

I’ve never been a great programmer.  I’ve fluctuated wildly between utterly incompetent to unbearably clever.

It’s been years since I’ve done any professionally, but lately, given my boring life, I’ve decided that I want to stick my oar back in.  Given that I’m more a script-git, that’s my made-up word for older script-kiddies, than hard-core, I’m not sure what language to plunge into again.

In the past I’ve delved into most of the big procedural languages, with the notable exception of C++ , I like the look of Ruby, but I’m a bit afraid that it’s going to vanish…

I don’t know.

Ideally, I’m looking for some very simple scripting language with amazingly extensive documentation and low line-noise.  The source code for the interpreter must also be well commented and not spaghetti and compile flawlessly in ANSI C.  Yes Lua, but I’ve had problems with it and its popularity seems waning.  Oh yes, and as a QBASIC fan, I’d like to be able to do graphics.  I do sooo love fractals.

Thanks for the comment- much appreciated.
You were talking about the blog, not nine tentacled, chthonic entities from the planet’s Zorg hell-dimension, right?
