Brown, Yellow and Black SF and Fantasy Writers

As a brown English/Mauritian/Canadian beginner writer, struggling with NaNoWriMo, I cannot helping feeling a little isolated, but should I be?  We are obviously out there.  Now, I’m sure there are more examples than just these few but, off the top of my head, here are a few published authors who are NOT white-

Also, you might want to check out Ursula K. Le Guin’s (a writer who IS white) Earthsea trilogy– a series of excellent fantasy novels that transcend fantasy world-building stereotypes.

  1. Isolation for a writer can be a good thing.

      I meant a feeling of social isolation rather than the peaceful isolation needed to write or exercise your imagination. Anyway, quite apart from the race situation, I’ve been participating NaNoWriMo- they send me encouraging e-mails and its really useful. To me, at least.
